Home | Walden Dahl | Annie Dahl | Paul Shelasky The Walden Dahl Band is fast becoming one of the premier "West Coast" Bluegrass Bands. The high smooth tenor sound of Walden's is the envy of any bluegrass tenor singer. Band member and multi-instrumentalist Paul Shelasky is considered by many as one of the greatest bluegrass fiddlers in the business and he has equal prowess on mandolin and dobro. To round off the core of the band is Annie Dahl who adds excellent lead and harmony vocals. For bookings contact Walden at: 760.949.6653. Annie Dahl Annie Dahl joined the Walden Dahl Band in 1997. She came to California from the state of North Carolina. She began her singing career in a church at the age of seven and wrote her first gospel song at the age of ten. Annie toured the east coast with the Florida Women's Choir. She was active in community musical productions including "Oklahoma", and "The King and I". Annie moved to Nashville in the late 70's where she sang country and bluegrass music. She had the opportunity to sing with the legendary John Denver. Annie writes country and bluegrass music in collaboration with her husband, Walden, and enjoys touring with the band. Annie sings harmony and lead female vocals and is currently writing for and singing on Walden's new album to be released in September of 1999. Paul Shelasky Paul was born in Vallejo, CA. He started the guitar at the age of 14 and fiddle at age 18. is parents both play classical music but he and his sister became bluegrass musicians and played in several bluegrass bands together. Paul has been a two-time California State Old Time Fiddle Champion and has twice won the California State Flatpicking Championship. Paul played for 12 years with the San Francisco based bluegrass band "The Good Ol' Persons and has toured the U.S., British Isles and Europe. He has appeared in concert and recorded with David Grisman, Tony Rice, Frank Wakefield and many other bluegrass greats.
