"Quicksand"

Once again Tricopolis Records peels off another California rooted bluegrass hit recording with Mike Nadolson's "Quicksand".  Playing on this CD with Mike are some of the West Coast's best, including: Dennis Caplinger, John Moore,  Kenny Blackwell, David Dias, Dean Knight, David  Richardson, Walden Dahl, and Bob Applebaum.

This CD has a wonderful mix of new and old, with old standards like, Nine Pound Hammer, Cabin of  Love, Kentucky Girl, and Someone Took My Place With You.  The arrangements here are not as traditional as the tunes but done with style and a musical flare that spotlights each musicians musical ability.   The vocals and harmonies are strong and clear. 

The title cut Quicksand, by David Dias,  highlights David's innovative dobro style and the accompanying instrumentals stand out with equal brilliance. 

Bluegrass is alive and hoppin' California, this is a must have for any CD collection. ~Eric Janson CBAweb
