"The Country Music News" review on "Quicksand"
Reprinted from the Country Music News Jan. 1999 Issue "Quicksand" Ohio-born, California-raised singer/picker Mike Nadolson creates some genuine bluegrass magic on this collection recorded in San Diego studios. Nadolson has a resonant baritone voice and makes full use of the talent covering bluegrass material from yesterday and today. The special moments come in a couple of Flatt and Scruggs nuggets (Someone Took My Place With You and Cabin of Love); the Ernest Tubb tune You Won't Ever Forget Me and the Seldom Scene bluegrass hit Muddy Waters. Two songs written by Chris Jones, one of bluegrass music's top new acts, I Know My Way To You By heart and Uphill Climb, are also key tracks here. -Larry Delaney
